Style Splash: Soïa & Kyo Plaid Trench

soiakyoxandraplaidtrenchIt’s rai-ning, it’s pou-ring — at least your trench isn’t bor-ing. Not if it’s this darling black-and-red plaid number.

The Xandra belted trench ($280 CAN/$310 US) is just one of a collection of sharp, spring-time toppers from Soïa & Kyo, a Montreal-based company known for fitted silhouettes, oversized collars and distinctive, youthful detailing. Shiny statement buttons, trim bishop-esque sleeves, contrast piping, and a timeless pattern that won’t overwhelm whether you’re XXS or XL make this raincoat a definite drizzly-day pick-me-up.

Bet you’ll find your smartly-dressed self grinning for no apparent reason as you sail into the office. Blame it on the rain.

Soïa & Kyo is available at select retailers worldwide and at soiakyo.com. Image courtesy of Soïa & Kyo.

Just pick one — and lemme know how it goes. Of course, I don’t think I should be your one phone call…

“Bail? What? No, I can’t give you bail! I’ll tell you what, how about I come by with some nice moisturizer and maybe a little mascara so that you can look pretty for court!” lol

You just couldn’t resist a Milli Vanilli reference could you?

I am in love with that coat. And wouldn’t it look fab on me?!?!?

Oh, you should see the one that “smooches” bought me the other day. One sweet little black trench with white piping. But, why can’t I have your featured one too?!?! One can never have too many coats – especially when our weather is horrendous!

OK chickie…when are we going for coffee??

I would never tell you you couldn’t have this trench too! After all, I may well own the world’s largest collection of watermelon-shade glosses. Each one is distinctly different to the trained eye, of course. And this Soïa & Kyo trench is distinctly different from the blue-and-white (yellow and green too?) coat you already have, and certainly different from your new-from-smooches black trench with black piping. So… you must have it. *grin*

I purchased a cream coloured, mid-length, Soïa & Kyo swing rain coat with decorative belt (you button it on around your waist, it’s not tied) in Montreal about 4 years ago on sale for approx. $160…and I still love it! I forgot the name of the store that carried it (they don’t have sales when you buy online). I’ve received a lot of compliments on it. They have simple, yet uniquely classic detailing. If you check out their website for their fall/winter line, they also have beautiful wool coats as well.

I knew you’d know the line, Wynne! Thanks for the sales-only-in-stores tip, too.

Funny you say that, Ellen — I thought this one would be one you’d love! Must be because you have that snappy coat I always admire when I see you wear it.
