Other than the search for the “perfect” man, little is more exhaustive for the oily-lidded woman than the hunt for the magic that might keep eye shadow from disintigrating 17 minutes after application. I have oil-slick lids myself; I know I’m not exaggerating.
That said, I haven’t a clue what took me so long to get around to trying the raved-about Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Eyeshadow Base in Sheer Nude ($22 CAN/$17 US). Maybe I’m not such a good multi-tasker?
So I’ve added another prep-step to my routine. Blended on bare lids before makeup, Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion keeps shadow in place, virtually creaseless all day, and keeps lids looking (and feeling) fresh when I skip the colour. Now I can concentrate on other things.
And thanks to always-thinking Nicole Stamp of pageslap, who left this link for us in the comments below, I don’t have to waste any time on concentrating how to get every last bit of primer potion out of this quaint but inefficient tube: How to De-Pot Urban Decay Shadow Primer Potion
Urban Decay is available at Sephora stores in Canada and the US, and at sephora.com. Image courtesy of Urban Decay.

What do BeautyGeeks readers think of the Olay cream that beat a $700 brand in hydration performance?

Okay, I’m sold. You had me at “oily-lidded.” ;) (The only reason I haven’t committed to the price was because I wasn’t sure it would do any good for my oily lids.)
I was pleasantly surprised, I must say. I know it’s well loved, but that didn’t mean it would work for me. It does, so yay! Hope it works for you :-)
This is my favorite of all time!!! I WON’T do makeup gigs without this!!! I swear! this works!!! :) I’m glad you like it too
Sometimes I’m slow to try things everyone else is talking about — don’t know why. Fear of disappointment? But I’m so pleased with this I’m giving one to my friend as part of her birthday prezzie. Hope she likes it, too! How long do they last you in your kit, Nikki?
I love this stuff, it’s the only thing that makes eyeshadow last for me. One thing I do find though is that different eyeshadows react differently – some (like MAC) go on lighter on top of this, others brighter.
I think this is the one that you had recommended for me. Like you, I’ve been slow to try it…but will definitely go and give it a try.
Go now! And report back when you’ve tried it! *grin*
bought it…tried it….love it! thanks Janine!
Yay! Glad I could help!

You rock, stamperoo — I’ve added the link, with thanks, to the body of the post. Thanks!
