Penny Wise: Stretching Your Beauty Bucks

Want to look great without upsetting your newly sensitive budget? Frankly, the best things you can do are get lots of sleep, drink lots of water (and green tea), eat good-for-you stuff and exercise. The better care you take of yourself with your lifestyle, the better your skincare will work for you and the less beauty assistance you’ll need.

That said, many of us know firsthand how difficult a balanced lifestyle can be to achieve when navigating a new career path or finding new ways to sail steadily in choppy economic waters. So knowing where to spend and where to save is key. For “recessionista” beauty strategy tips, visit MetroNews.ca.

Because, you know, a pretty penny saved is a pretty penny saved.

Hey! I use that Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat! It IS pretty good! (and I would know ’cause I’m hard on my nail polish what with stickin’ my hands in all kinds of stuff all the time).

I have 2 bottles of that top coat. One I’ve had for a really, really long time – because it’s the bottle I use, it’s become thicker over time and gives much better coverage and protection. When the level gets too low, I add some from the newer bottle to bring it up to brush level and that also works to thin it a little and keep it going forever.

Yeah… I think maybe I’m a nail polish nerd…

That’s an interesting less-waste tip — I’ll remember that one, You. Thanks!

You’re welcome — saving where you can just frees up the coin for other fun stuff. Nothing wrong with that *grin*
