Oil and Water: L'Occitane en Provence Grape and Almond Shower Oils

by Janine on 15 December 2008 · 3 comments

What took me so long to discover in-shower oil body cleansers? No matter. I know about them now.

As do my favourite oil facial cleansers, L’Occitane en Provence shower oils ($24 CAN/$22 US) lather up on damp skin and rinse off cleanly to leave skin soft and the tub — er — un-slippy.

I’m partial to L’Occitane’s Grape Shower Oil. A blend of grape-seed and sweet-almond oils, it’s a tad lighter in consistency than the brand’s Almond Shower Oil, which I like, too — it’s just this one has a more delicate, less sugary fragrance. Both leave skin lightly moisturized post shower; body lotion on still-damp skin seals the soft in. Nice for this not-nice, winter-itchy time of year.

Seems like a good mix of oil and water to me. I’m fairly certain Clive-O and Daniel-C will agree.

L’Occitane en Provence shower oils are available at L’Occitane boutiques and at loccitane.com. Image courtesy of L’Occitane en Provence.

Thanks so much for your comment, Sophia! In fact it was the Almond Shower Oil that led me to the Grape. I tried the Almond at a friend’s and liked it immensely (I actually mentioned it in a story I wrote for our Metro news; the piece ran nationally: http://tinyurl.com/6y2wsq). When I found the Grape, I fell in love — the fragrance makes me smile in the mornings :-)

And boy, I hear you, Susan! Makes a great gift, actually. Start dropping hints!
