This is actually a Geeking OUT post — my friend Alexis and I just watched freaky-fantastic popper Robert Muraine (and a lesser-known-to-me breaker named Garvin Tran, a.k.a. Gyroe) perform on Front St. in downtown Toronto. Pulp, as the duo calls themselves, is here for BuskerFest, an annual Toronto international street performers festival which this year goes until Sunday August 24th. If you missed this season of “So You Think You Can Dance” and don’t know who Muraine is, have a gander at this behind-the-scenes video of the making of the current Canadian Ikea commercial:
Muraine and his pal Gyroe are performing again over the weekend; check with the on-site location booth for details. He and Gyro are just too good to miss.
Ooh, and if you’re a “Canadian Idol” fan, this season’s seriously-cool top-five finalist Mookie Morris is also rocking out this weekend as part of the BuskerFest fun.

Robert is unbelieveable! How can he move like that?!
Freakish, unique physical make-up? He can’t be built like ordinary folk, despite his seemingly normal appearance!
I’m just impressed that most days I can touch my toes! What will happen to Robert’s body when he is “some 19 years past 21″? :)
I expect he’ll be just as limber. There’s no way he’s built like most folk, and the constant activity will probably keep him that way. I know from my latest inactive stretch that it’s the inactivity that’s stiffened up my own body, and sitting badly for hours that has my muscles all twisted! I’m having threesome dreams about my chiropractor and massage therapist and me. OOOH! Stat update! xo
We caught his act from the window by reception at Redwood on Friday afternoon! The stage was right out front of our office. He’s unbelievable.
I just love all this! It’s FUN, all this appreciation of a decidedly unusual talent! I wonder if he ever imagined he’d have this sort of effect?
